The mechanism

How Ripple works

A one-time code from your blood center, a chain of friends, and a ledger that never forgets. Here is the whole mechanism on one page.

The cascade

Every logged donation issues 100 drops to the donor, 20 to the person who invited them, 10 to the next ring up and 5 to the ring after that. Then every ring beyond, all the way to whoever started the chain, receives 1 drop. There is no limit to how far it goes. The chain never rewrites itself: whoever you joined under is who you stay under.

Why every ring counts, and why this is not a pyramid

The big thank-yous stay close to real relationships: the friend you asked, and the friend who asked them. Beyond that, a single drop travels up every ring so your first invitation keeps echoing however far the chain travels. It is not a pyramid: there is nothing to buy, nobody is paid to recruit, drops never turn into cash, and they are issued only when someone actually gives blood.

One donation, in the ledger

One entry per ring, one hash chain.

This is what Ripple writes when Valentina logs her code and five people stand above her in the chain. Each entry commits to the one before it, so any edit anywhere breaks every hash after it.

Exponential, on purpose

What a chain does

Move the sliders. The numbers below are arithmetic, not a promise. They show what a chain does when a modest share of people keep it going.

People in 10 rings
170
Donations per year in that ripple
342
Lives touched per year
1,026
Ring by ring: 2 → 2 → 3 → 5 → 8 → 11 → 17 → 26 → … people. The first donor would receive about 664 drops a year: 100 for each of their own donations, 20 · 10 · 5 from the first three rings, and 326 single drops from the 7 rings beyond. Real ripples have no ring limit; the slider only stops the math.
Logging a donation

One code. One donation.

There is nothing to verify later, because the proof is in your hand or your inbox.

1 · At the blood center

After you give, staff hand you a Ripple donor card or send you a code by text or email. Each code is unique to that center.

2 · On your phone

Scan the QR, tap the link or type the 8-character code. New to Ripple? Sign up and you land right back on your code.

3 · Up every ring

The donation counts instantly and drops flow up your whole ripple. The code can never be used again.
